Traditional Italian wedding cakes
Italian wedding cakes are totally different to the classic fruit wedding cakes that we know. They are much lighter and fresher, look and taste wonderful too and are often served as dessert.
Some of the most popular wedding cakes here in Italy are:
- Millefoglie (layers of flaky puff pastry) with Chantilly cream and chocolate chips between the layers (and strawberries too if you would like)
- Fresh fruit (sponge or pastry base covered with a custard cream and sliced fresh fruit all over the top)
- Saint Honoré with chocolate and cream
- Tiramisù cake
- Meringata with strawberries and cream
These cakes are freshly made for your wedding and can be in the shape you prefer – heart, square, round or rectangular.
